Karachi Women Netball Cup 2008

Pakistan Netball Federation & Sindh Netball Association was organized the Karachi Women Netball Cup 2008 at Habib Girls School, Karachi from 12 to 22 Feb, 2008.  The 12 different schools were took part in this tournament.

Final Placing:
1st The City School, North Nazimabad, Karachi
2nd Habib Girls School, Karachi
3rd The City School, PECHS, Karachi

ASC Netball Coaching & Development Program 2008

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) have Organized ASC NETBALL COACHING & DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM 2008 from 4th to 29th March 2008 at nine cities of the Country including Hyderabad, Sanghar, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Quetta, Faisalabad, Sumandri and Gujarawala with the collaboration and assistance of Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Provincial and Districts Netball Associations respectively.

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) specially focused the rural areas to develop the Netball players and teams. The main aim of this programme was to create awareness of basic netball rules, basic coaching & netball developing in at grass root levels. Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) & Australian Sports Commission (ASC) have provided the Netball Pools, Balls, Literatures, T-Shirts & Refreshments to District Netball Associations.

The PNF has achieved its targets in identifying the new netball players at different cities in rural areas through this training. Besides this, about 500 Sports teachers, Coaches and P.T. Instructors, nearly 3000 to 3500 Girls / players from different schools, colleges also participated in this training program.

It is further mentioned that many schools, colleges and other Rural Areas have requested to PNF that organize other Netball Coaching & Development Program in more areas because this program is very useful for netball player, coaches, Instructors. The TV Channels & Newspapers also highlighted the projection of this program.

Pakistan Netball Federation was organized National Inter-Department Men’s Netball Championship 2008 held at Hyderabad from 8 to 10 June, 2008 with the collaboration of Sindh Netball Association & National Umpiring Association.

The U-16 Girls Netball team was participated in Southern Skies Tournament 2008 held at Brisbane, Australia from 6 to 11 July, 2008 organized by Southern Skies Tournament Committee with the collaboration of District Netball Association, Queensland.

Pakistani squad secured 13th Ranked in this tournament and Ms. Umama Qadri of The City School, Karachi been selected in “ALL STAR PLAYER”. The squad comprising girls from The City School, Karachi Region., Such tours prove helpful in promoting of Netball among school children in Pakistan.

 

Pakistan Netball Federation has organized 8th National Men’s Netball Championship 2008 held at City Sports Complex, Kashmir Road, Karachi from 25 to 28 August, 2008 in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Trust (PST), City District Govt. Karachi (CDGK) and Sindh Netball Association. The championship was conducted on league basis pool A & B.

Pakistan Netball Federation has organized 8th National Women’s Netball Championship 2008 held at Islamia College for Women, Faisalabad from 19 to 21 November, 2008 in collaboration with Pakistan Sports Trust (PST). The championship was conducted on league basis pool A & B.

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) have organized ASC NETBALL COACHING & TOURNAMENT PROGRAM 2009 from 14th February to 12th April, 2009 at six cities of the Country including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Islamabad / Rawalpindi, Quetta and Lahore with the collaboration and assistance of Australian Sports Commission (ASC) and Provincials & Districts Netball Associations respectively.

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) focused on the development of the Netball players/teams. The main aim of this programme was to create awareness of basic netball rules, basic coaching, physical fitness & netball competitions’ at grass root levels. Following were the venues:

The Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Netball Coaching & Tournament Program 2009 concluded successfully, which was organized from 14th February to 12th April, 2009 at different cities of the country. The PNF specially focused on the development of the Netball players and teams. The main aim of this programme was to create awareness of basic Netball Rules, Basic Coaching, Physical Fitness, Netball competitions & Netball Developing. This enhanced the participation of Girls at gross-root levels. The PNF also achieved its targets in identifying the new netball players at different cities through this training & tournament program. Besides this, about 350 Sports teachers, Coaches and P.T. Instructors, nearly 1300 to 1600 Girls / players from different schools, colleges & universities also participated in this coaching / tournament program which can be termed as a great success. Many TV Channels & Newspapers also highlighted this program and projected it throughout Pakistan.
 

May 2009

The Pakistan Netball Federation has organized the National Women Coaching & Training Camp at PSB Coaching Center, Karachi from 15th May to 15th June, 2009 for the preparation of 7th Asian Women Netball Championship 2009 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 40 women netball players were invited and 30 netball players from all affiliated units had been participated in this training camp.

Pakistan Women Netball team participated in 7th Asian Women Netball Championship 2009 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19th to 28th June, 2009, organized by Malaysian Netball Federation with the collaboration of Asian Netball Federation. The 03 officials & 10 players were took part in this Asian Championship.
